The park is small and quiet with superb views over the Pennines. Domestic animals, including ponies, donkeys and red deer live at Highgate, the rest of the land owned by Highgate is organic and supports a profusion of wildlife; from buzzard and kestrel to woodpecker and the humble sparrow, from hare, red squirrel and roe deer, to the unassuming rabbit.
